In the beginning…

GC Felinest Silver Dollar
GC Felinest Flying High of Velva

These are two of the first famous American Russian Blues and they helped set the American lines on the road towards greatness.

GC Felinest Silver Dollar (above) and his grandson GC Felinest Flying High of Velva (left) are at the root of the modern American lines.

Flying High was sold as a pet. The kitten grew into such a beautiful cat that they tried to keep him and give the buyer a different cat of their choosing. The offer was declined so Velva bred him to every female they could find as fast as they could in 1969ish. Flying High was eventually neutered and given to the new owner as a pet.

Some of the noted offspring from GC Felinest Flying High are:

Velva’s Miss Behavin’, DM,

Velva’s Mr Ree.

Some well known and famous early descendants are:

Heartbeeps Pegleg Pete of Kaybill

Miribu’s Sunshine, DM

and many many more.

If you want to know where the winning American Russian Blues came from this is where it all started.
